Remember the warmer days in Florida

The picture shows pelicans flying over the waves at Cocoa Beach.

Hi my friends,

The best thing on the cold days we have just now in Florida is: the sun is back again!
It's still not warm enough as it should be, but it's getting better. There are still some cold days ahead.

I worry much more for our animals and plants. I heard stories about the manatees, sea turtles and iguanas who are suffering and dieing from these freezing cold temperatures. People are helping to rescue them all over Florida and they even open up again old electric plants, so the animals can come to warm up in the warm waters there. Sea turtles get washed to the shores, they cannot swim anymore in this cold temperatures. People help to collect them, bring them to shelters where they get good care and warm water to warm up again.

Thank you all for your kind comments yesterday, very much appreciated.

The Song of the Ocean

We have visited the beach yesterday

Hot sand under your feet and sunshine on your skin and in front of your eyes the endless view of the Atlantic Ocean

I LOVE to listen to the waves!

Don't talk, don't say anything, just listen!

There were also some surfers enjoying the braking waves

Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.

Hi my friends,

I hope you'll enjoy these wave photos like I did it for real yesterday. Watching them it's for me like meditation, like medicine for the soul. Next time I'll make a video, so you will be able to hear the song of the ocean too.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments to my post yesterday :)

Don't forget my CALENDARS 2010 are ready to buy NOW - Christmas is coming soon!

See you tomorrow, at the same spot, at the same time....

Summer Fun - everywhere!

Yesterday was a hot summer day. We went down to Edisto beach to see how much fun was going one there. I have seen a lot of families with kids playing in the cooling waves, like this two girls here.

While back in the city the kids there were trying to have their own fun with water also - like this boy, jumping high in the cool fountain in the park.

Morning Walk at Folly Beach

The seagulls also are enjoying the warming sun

Family walk and so many questions for Dad

He is waiting for the next wave

The waves are rolling in to the shores

The pier at Folly Beach

This six-mile-long by half-mile-wide stretch of sandy beach sports condos, a fishing pier, and loads of history.

In the 1930s, the giant pier and pavilion (later destroyed by fire) rose to fame for billing such big-name acts as Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, the Ink Spots, and Guy Lombardo. Gershwin fans may be interested to know that George and Ira composed "Porgy and Bess" while staying on the beach. Although fire wiped out most of the beach's historical structures, the area is still a popular draw for surfers, picnickers, anglers, and sunbathers, and it offers a pleasant retreat from harried site-seeing for the brain-tired traveler.
